Raccoon Removal in Brampton
Brampton’s growing subdivisions and established conservation areas create a perfect storm for raccoon activity. As new development pushes into agricultural land and green spaces, displaced raccoons adapt quickly to suburban living. They find that a Brampton attic is much warmer, drier, and safer than a hollow tree in Heart Lake Conservation Area.
Raccoons don’t just “wander” into your attic. They break in. They have the hand strength to rip off plastic roof vents, bend aluminum soffits, and tear through shingles. Once inside, a mother raccoon will crush your insulation, chew wiring, and create a latrine that ruins your ceiling.
Pestisect provides humane, permanent raccoon removal for Brampton homeowners. We comply strictly with Ontario wildlife laws meaning we don’t trap and relocate them miles away (which is illegal and inhumane). We install one-way exit doors, physically remove babies by hand, and seal your home with heavy-gauge steel so they can’t return.

Where Brampton Raccoons Break In
Offit intersection: In newer Brampton homes (especially those built in the last 20 years with complex, multi-peaked rooflines), the spot where a lower roof meets the wall of an upper floor is a prime target. Raccoons sit on the lower roof and push up on the aluminum soffit until it bends or pops out of the J-channel.
Roof vents Those square plastic or metal vents on your roof are designed to let air out, not keep raccoons out. Raccoons simply rip the plastic covers off or chew through the light aluminum screen underneath.
Under decks and sheds Brampton properties with large, low-to-the-ground decks or backyard sheds are perfect for male raccoons or mothers looking for a ground-level den. They dig underneath the skirt to establish a den in the dry dirt below.
Signs of a Raccoon in Your Brampton Home
Heavy thumping
If it sounds like a grown man walking in your attic in boots, it's a raccoon. (If it sounds like light, rapid scratching during the day, it's likely a squirrel).
Crying sounds
Raccoon babies (kits) sound like a mix between a bird chirping and a kitten crying. If you hear this between March and June, you have a nest.
Soffit hanging down
If you walk out your front door and look up to see a piece of aluminum soffit hanging loose, a raccoon likely pushed through it last night.
Deck digging
Large holes dug right at the edge of your deck skirting or under the shed foundation.
Raccoon Removal
Our Humane Removal Process
Step 1: Inspection & Assessment
We inspect the roof and exterior to find the main entry point. During baby season (March–June), we must inspect the attic interior. A mother raccoon usually has 3–5 babies tucked into the deepest, hardest-to-reach corner of the attic.
Step 2: Baby Retrieval (March–June)
If we install a one-way door while babies are inside, the mother will leave to find food, get locked out, and literally tear your roof apart trying to get back to them. If she fails, the babies die in your attic. We suit up, enter the attic, physically retrieve the babies by hand, and place them in an insulated reunion box on the roof.
Step 3: One-Way Door Installation
We install a heavy-duty steel one-way door over the main entry point. The mother raccoon pushes her way out but cannot pull the door back open. Once out, she will find the reunion box, collect her babies one by one by the scruff of the neck, and carry them to a secondary den site (they always have a backup den).
Step 4: Prevention
We reinforce the vulnerable areas around the entry point with 16-gauge PVC-coated galvanized steel mesh to ensure she doesn't just chew a new hole right next to the old one.
Step 5: Final Seal
After 3–5 days, we return, remove the one-way door, and permanently seal the hole.

Brampton Neighbourhood Raccoon Activity
Heart Lake, Sandringham, Springdale
Properties backing onto conservation areas or Etobicoke Creek face constant wildlife pressure. Preventative roof vent screening is highly recommended in these areas.
Credit Valley, Mount Pleasant
Newer homes with complex rooflines. The aluminum soffits on these homes are highly vulnerable to raccoon entry.
Bramalea, Central Brampton
Older homes with mature trees. Branches touching the roof act as raccoon highways. Trim tree branches at least 6 feet back from your roofline.
