Cockroach Control in Brampton

Cockroaches in a brand new Brampton home feel wrong. Your house is clean, it’s barely two years old, and somehow you’re finding small brown bugs behind the stove at midnight.

Here’s what happened: German cockroaches don’t come from dirt or neglect. They come from somewhere else inside a cardboard box from the grocery store, in a used appliance you bought online, in a bag of groceries from a warehouse store, or through the shared wall you share with your townhome neighbour. In Brampton, where large families mean frequent grocery runs, where moving between homes is common, and where thousands of homes share walls cockroaches find their way in.

Pestisect treats cockroach infestations across all of Brampton detached homes, townhomes, semis, and apartment buildings. We use gel bait and dust, not spray. Spray is what makes cockroach problems worse. We’ll explain why.

Cockroaches in Brampton Townhomes — The Shared Wall Issue

Brampton has thousands of townhome units in communities like Springdale, Mount Pleasant, Castlemore, and Credit Valley. When one unit in a townhome row develops a cockroach infestation, the entire row is at risk. How they travel: Through electrical outlet back-boxes (your outlet and your neighbour’s connect to the same wall cavity), under-sink plumbing penetrations, and gaps where baseboards meet shared walls. What we recommend:
  • Treat your unit with gel bait don’t wait for coordination
  • Have a conversation with your neighbours (uncomfortable but important)
  • If you rent, notify your landlord immediately treatment is their financial responsibility
  • Consider a shared-wall dust application to create a barrier

For Brampton property managers: We offer row-wide treatment packages that address all connected units simultaneously. This prevents the “ping-pong” pattern where cockroaches are pushed from one unit to the next and back.

How Cockroaches Get Into Brampton Homes

If you’ve sprayed cockroaches with a can from the hardware store and the problem got worse or spread to other rooms this is why:

German cockroaches respond to contact spray by fleeing. They scatter from the kitchen into the living room, bedrooms, and wall cavities. Spray is a repellent, not an eliminator. It pushes cockroaches to new locations rather than killing the colony.

Worse: spray can push cockroaches through shared walls into your neighbour’s townhome unit. Now two homes have cockroaches instead of one.

What works instead: Professional gel bait. Cockroaches eat the bait voluntarily. They return to the colony and die. Other cockroaches cannibalize the dead ones and also die. This chain reaction eliminates the colony from the inside out. It takes 5–10 days to see significant results, but it actually works.

Treatment Process

Our Cockroach Treatment Process

Our cockroach control process is designed to eliminate infestations at every stage of their lifecycle. We begin with a detailed
inspection of your property to identify the species, infestation level, and key hiding areas.

Inspect

We check every harbourage area behind and under the stove, under the sink, dishwasher door panel, fridge compressor area, all electrical outlets in kitchen and bathroom, baseboards, and cabinet hinges. We identify the species and assess severity.

Apply gel bait

Small dots of professional-grade bait at every crack, crevice, hinge, and gap where cockroaches hide. This is precise work we're placing bait where cockroaches walk, not where you'll see it.

Dust wall voids (if needed)

For moderate or heavy infestations, insecticidal dust is applied into wall voids and pipe chases — especially important in Brampton townhomes to create a barrier at the shared wall.

Follow-up in 2–3 weeks

We return to assess results and reapply if needed. Glue monitors track ongoing activity.

Warranty

If cockroaches return within the warranty period, we re-treat at no charge.

Castlemore, Gore Road

Larger detached homes. Cockroach introductions are less common but happen through grocery boxes and used appliances. Easier to treat because there are no shared walls.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Brampton home is new — how did cockroaches get in?
Through cardboard. Grocery boxes, Amazon packages, and bulk warehouse store packaging are the most common introduction method in new Brampton homes. German cockroaches hide inside corrugated cardboard and are carried into your home with your groceries. Break down and discard cardboard outside immediately rather than storing it in the garage or kitchen.
Yes. German cockroaches travel through shared walls via electrical outlet back-boxes, plumbing penetrations, and baseplate gaps. Your neighbour’s infestation can become yours without any bugs ever appearing in a common area. Shared-wall dust application creates a barrier to reduce this transfer.
Keep food in sealed containers. Fix dripping taps — cockroaches need water more than food. Clean behind the stove and under the sink regularly. Break down cardboard boxes immediately and take them outside. Inspect any used appliances before bringing them indoors. Seal gaps around pipes under the kitchen and bathroom sinks with steel wool or caulk.
Clean behind the stove and under the sink — remove grease buildup that serves as a food source. But don’t deep-clean every surface right before treatment. If you remove all competing food sources, the cockroaches are more likely to eat the gel bait quickly, which speeds up elimination.
Peel Region provides guidance but does not perform treatments. If you rent and your landlord refuses to treat, Peel Region can direct you to the Landlord and Tenant Board for enforcement. For treatment, you need a licensed pest control operator.
